1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

A lot of people are constantly wondering and searching to discover what God’s will is for their life.  The problem is they are looking more for what God wants them to do instead of who God wants them to become.

Galatians 2:20

June 29, 2008

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD who loved me, and gave himself for me.

. . . it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me. . .  Daily we are often caught up in a self-preservation of ourselves which can lead to an abandon of everything and everyone to get what we want.   But the Christian life is one of surrender to ourselves so that our identity is no longer found in “I”, but in the goodness and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Today: Self-preservation or surrender, which will it be for you?

About Pauls Blog

June 28, 2008

Freedom.  It’s the cry of every human heart.  The apostle Paul, who wrote two-thirds of the New Testament, grew up a religious zealot but was finally set free by the grace of Christ.  His freedom from his former religious life is seen throughout his writings.  If he were alive today he’d proabably be blogging us about all of his missionary adventures and new discoveries.  Like Paul, it may be time for you to step out of your religious life and into a loving, personal relationship with God.  Join us for this exciting journey through many of Paul’s writings.

The following posts are daily devotionals written by the staff at First Baptist McKinney.  Our goal is to help you throughout the week as together we studdy the writtings of Paul.  A new devotion will be posted each day durign the series.  Please check back each day as we grow together.
