1 Corinthians 3:13
“It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.” In this section of 1st Corinthians, Paul is talking about spiritual work and how God will one day test the quality of our work with “fire”. Earlier, in verse 12, he says this: “If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is…” Paul is reminding us of how important it is to truly consider what we are building with as we seek to further God’s Kingdom. Are we spending ourselves in ways that truly cost us something? Or, are we living lazy Christian lives…not investing ourselves and resources in ways that truly matter? One thing is certain…when life’s fire comes our way, our works will be revealed for what they truly are.
