2 Corinthians 4:8
July 8, 20082 Corinthians 4:8
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:8
“Life comes at you fast!” Paul had more reasons than anyone to complain about his life circumstances. He had experienced persecution, imprisonment and so much more. However, he was able to be content with all of his circumstances because his eyes were focused on Jesus. When your days are filled with discouragement and life seems to be too much to bear, remember that we can be filled with the Spirit of the Lord. We will never be utterly destroyed. Our Father in heaven understands our pain and hurts when we hurt. He loves us with an everlasting love. We are even reminded of his amazing love in the story of Noah. After destroying the world, He made a promise with Noah that He would never again destroy the earth. God loves you and will never abandon you. His rainbow in the clouds reminds us of His mercy and love. Hope in Him!
